Our mission at BookCrunchers is to offer parents and teachers a breakdown of the content of popular young adult books. Today's parents and teachers are extremely busy, and although they wish to encourage their kids to read, they don't always have the time to preview their recommendations.
That's where BookCrunchers comes in! Read the ratings on our site to keep informed about questionable material. We encourage you, the teacher or parent/guardian, to use this information to decide if it is the right book for the child in question.
The goal of BookCrunchers is not to censor these books, but to give you an idea of what to expect from them. Like the movie rating system, our goal is to assist parents and teachers in making the right recommendations for their kids. We do offer brief synopses and sometimes our own personal recommendations of books we have enjoyed, but our ratings are based primarily on the books' content.
